    Ernie (D0405)
This is Ernie, he is a bonded pair with Burt. They came to us about a month ago from a hoarding situation. The boys were kept outside so they are still getting used to being indoor dogs. Ernie is VERY attached to his brother, we think because of what they endured together before they came to us. We are hoping to find a forever home they will both be welcome. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care of past/current pets. Our goal is to have the very best home for all our dogs and cats and therefore we reserve the right to approve or deny an application based on what we determine is in the pet's best interest.
  2. Flash (D0511)
    Flash (D0511)
Meet Flash! He came to 4 PAWS in June 2017 a total mess! He was a hunting dog turned loose to service on his own. He was a walking skeleton with no training and heartworm positive. Over the summer his fosters crate trained him, teaching him how to be an indoor dog. We got him neutered and treated for heart worms. He loves other dogs, he loves kids and he loves playing. He is still learning that counter surfing isn't acceptable but his good features far outweigh the bad!

  4. Spitfire (C0006)
    Spitfire (C0006)
My name is Spitfire and I am looking for my forever home! I was rescued after someone dumped my pregnant mommy in the woods. She gave birth to us and then a lady trapped us so we could be safe from the neighborhood dogs. I was the runt of the litter but my heart is HUGE! I just want a human to snuggle up with and spend my days loving. I enjoy cuddling up and watching movies. Loud noises scare me so I could do well in a quieter home with older kids or adults. I am fine with other cats and will not chase dogs. I have all of my shots and I am neutered. If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care of past/current pets. 23. Lisa (D0866)
    Lisa (D0866)
Please welcome Lisa to the 4 PAWS family! She came to us is early August, she was so scared of everything we decided she needed more socialization before being available. I am happy to say that she is doing much better and has even attended an event. Lisa is spayed, vaccines are current, she is on flea/hw prevention and currently weighs 25lbs. Lisa is 6-7 months old and is a Terrier mix. Here is what her foster mom has to say about her: A little bit about Lisa - Lisa is a very sweet girl who loves spending time with her people. When first coming to us, she was extremely shy and scared, didn't know how to play with toys or other dogs. She took to us, the humans, very fast though, and once she knew she could trust us, she would not leave our side. Thanks to her patient and playful foster siblings, she has learned to play nicely with other dogs and how to play with toys. She loves running around the yard, being chased by her foster siblings. Once all energy has been spend, she will jump into our laps for some snuggling, or lay right next to us on the couch. She is very affectionate and wants to please us constantly. She still gets skittish when harsh words hit the room, i.e. when one of her foster sibling pups needs to be corrected and she happens to be around at the same time. She also loves the baby pool and will just play with and in the water with so much joy - it's wonderful to watch! This past Saturday she attended her first adoption event and she did so good. In the beginning she was very scared, would try to hide and had her tail tucked, but once families showed up with little children, Lisa became a different dog. She was instantly drawn to several little boys and girls, she came out of her corner, went straight to them, tail wagging and handing out kisses like there is no tomorrow. It seems like a family with small children may be the perfect fit for her as the children seem to make her feel very comfortable and calm - it was truly amazing to witness. She will need a patient family as I feel that all the newness, strange surroundings, may have her scared again for a little bit. She does really well on a leash and is in the progress of learning commands. She is 99.5% housebroken but if not watched closely, will still have some accidents in the home. However, she has come a long way in that department and I feel that it's only a matter of time for her to be fully housebroken. She is crate trained and does well in a crate. Once you hear her barking though, you better let her out, if you're home, as that generally means that she has to relieve herself. As far as other dogs, she seems to be doing better with smaller MALE dogs. Not so good with females, larger dogs.
  24. Zane (D0890)
    Zane (D0890)
Meet Zane! He came to us a few weeks ago, he was shy and scared! Not anymore! His awesome foster family brought him out of his shell and has even taught him some tricks. Zane is about 14 weeks old. Our breed guess is Lab/Hound mix (we have no idea what his parent’s breeds are). Here is what his foster family says about him: Zane is great around the kids and other dogs. He likes one on one attention. Knows how to sit and come here. He is learning to fetch and still working on the house breaking. He has a very good temperament and is going to make someone a great sidekick. Zane is good with other dogs, kids and hasn’t been tested with cats. His vaccines are current, he has been dewormed and is on flea/hw prevention.
